Family

Beant Singh was one of 7 siblings. He had 3 sisters and was himself the youngest of 4 brothers. One brother died in his youth due to an accident whilst playing. His other 2 brothers went on to have long and distinguished careers in the British Indian army. His eldest brother was Captain and his other brother Colonel Bhajan Singh who attained an OBE for his services in the army.





Beant Singh had 5 children; 2 daughters and 3 sons. The 3 eldest children were born in Lahore before the partition of India and the youngest 2 were born in post-partition India in Ludhiana. All 5 children of Beant Singh graduated from Government College, Punjab, India
